June 14, 2012

Day 6.  Today we reached our 120 hr goal.  They have completely weened McKennlie from the coma meds and they are telling us it will take about 48 hours for us to see any change.  Melanie was able to paint McKennie's cute crooked toes bright green. The nurses also washed and combed out her poor hair it took them 2 1/2 hrs to untangle it.  We know we received a miracle on Monday this week and we are so grateful.  We are going to need another miracle as our sweet girl starts to come off of the meds.  Please continue to pray for her it is all of ours and your faith that is allowing us the opportunity to see these miracles first hand.

  4. We can't get you out of our minds! In fact Kelby asked what hospital you were at so we could come, but we understand that now is not the right time. Know that we love you guys and that our prayers are with you continually as with so many others. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Love you guys!

  6. Dear Provosts,

With tears in my eyes and a huge lump in my throat for what you are going through I just have to tell you how much we are thinking, praying, and rooting for your sweet McKennlie. Vicki just told me about this and I hopped on the blog and feel every tear, fear, pain, hope, prayer, etc through each post. It puts it all back into my mind with Dakota and my heart aches that you are having to experience this. We are behind you every step of the way and are here for you if there is anything AT ALL we can do! McKennlie is in great hands and I KNOW angels are round about her every second and she is being cared for.
WE LOVE YOU!!! You can do this McKennlie!!!
    ALL our love,
    Zach, Tessie, and Dakota Friedli

  8. Glad that McKennlie had a good day and you were able to pamper her a little! I'm also glad that I was able to help in a small way. I hesitated writing anything because this is such a difficult time for you, but felt really impressed to say something encouraging. Over the last 5 years I have had the opportunity to visit with a few families, one I knew and a few I didn't. If there is ANYTHING I can do for you- sit with you, listen to you, answer a question, anything at all, please do not hesitate to email me- lezzell@comcast.net. One thing I thought about passing on to you, listen to the doctors and therapists that are positive or tell you that they don't know what is going to be the outcome, they are being honest with you. Avoid or tune out the negative ones that suck the faith right out of you. We had one ICU doc and one speech therapist that were flat out wrong! It was a happy day when Craig proved them wrong! Someone mentioned hospital church, it is Awesome! Keep the faith and trust yourself as you make decisions. Our family continues to pray for each of you!!
