June 17, 2012#2

Mckennlie is having a good day today. She is still struggling with a fever, but all of her other numbers look really good. She got a new pair of kicks to prevent her Achilles tendon from shrinking. (we call them her Punky Brewster shoes) She is starting to move with more purpose today. Everyday she does a little better despite constant obstacles. The best news of the day is that she looked at Mel, really looked at her! McKennlie made a fathers day card for her daddy with a little help from her awesome nurse Deanna. It is amazing that when we start to feel overwhelmed and down it is our awesome McKennlie that picks us back up. We are so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that knows us and loves us. While you are praying for this little girl and her family please also express gratitude for the many miracles that He has blessed us with.

  1. My dearest Provost family! Tomorrow at 1:00 McKennlie's school family will be getting together for a special activity just for our McKennlie! We hope that all you will feel a lot of love being sent her way at that time! There is not a minute that your whole family is not in my thoughts and prayers. I love you guys! Susan G.

  3. We continue to have you in our thoughts and prayers! I read something today that made me think of you at church today and wanted to share it with you. It is from the Bible Dictionary on prayer, "The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for yourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that are made conditional on our asking for them" We will continue to pray for you and your sweet little girl!

  4. It is amazing how mindful our Father in Heaven, and our Savior Jesus Christ are. It's such a blessing to have children in our lives to lift us up when we are feeling down. No matter what I think Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ think the same of us they want us to be happy and feel for our every pain and needs. Take Care!

  9. Mel, I'm just hearing about this for the first time and I'm crying my eyes out. I'm so sorry sweet friend. I will pray my absolute hardest for a full recovery of your sweet daughter. I will be up there in July and will call you so we can get together like last summer. I'm sure everything will be OK. She's strong like you are! I love you Mel!!!

  10. Chris and Mel, we love you and are thinking of you all the time. Thanks so much for this blog, it helps us feel close to you. We are so sorry for all you are having to go through and we wish you the very best. Our kids pray for you in every prayer, in church little 5 year old Halle leaned over after the prayer and said, "They didn't bless McKennlie." So we are all very aware of you and hoping and praying. Stay strong, we love you. Greg, Lindsay and kids.
