June 13, 2012

McKennlie fought hard today and that little girl can hold her own. She is maintaining a safe pressure level which is especially great since they have been weening her from the coma meds. They have started to treat the pneumonia and are suctioning out the gunk from her nose and throat. Thank you for all the prayers in her behalf. We are feeling so blessed to be loved by such faith filled amazing people. I wish I could list all the amazing things people have done for this family, but it would be a mile long.

  1. I don't know you but I have been reading the updates on the blog and haven't said anything. Now, I want to encourage you to hang in there. Six years ago in August our son received a Traumatic Brain Injury and we went through this. He was in ICU 25 days, his coma lasted for 6 or so weeks and he was in the hospital (McKay-Dee) for a few months (107 days), but we received our miracle and you can too! Never give up! Craig was 16 when it happened and turned 17 while still in his coma. It took an extra year, but he graduated from high school and was able to serve a mission for the LDS church. He just completed his first year of college. My heart goes out to you and I am praying for you all. I will continue to follow your journey.

  3. Lori, I want you to know that your comment was EXACTLY what we needed today. There's always good and bad days, and we needed to hear that. Thank you so much!
    With much love,

  4. If you need a spiritual lift this weekend there is only one thing that I really miss about PCMC. It is the church services that are held on sunday. You will NEVER feel the spirit stronger amongst a large group of adults dressed in PJ's, levi's, hair not done, sometimes haven't changed clothes or taken a shower in days. Know that this journey will be steps forward and steps back, be sure to enjoy the little things on the worst of days. Sometimes the only good thing about the day is the desert that was available in the cafeteria. Know that through it all you will have complete strangers cry for your family and pray for your family.
